This page explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to exercise your rights over it.
What we collect
When you place an order we collect what is needed to fulfill it: name, delivery address, email address and payment confirmation. Your card details never pass through this site: they are entered and processed solely by Stripe, our payment provider. If you write to us, we keep your message for as long as it takes to answer it.
Why we hold it, and for how long
We process your order data in order to perform the contract of sale between us. Order data is kept for as long as our accounting obligations require; email exchanges are deleted once the matter is closed.
Analytics
This site uses no analytics tools, no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. The only thing stored in your browser is the contents of your cart, held locally on your device, which is never sent to us until you complete an order.
Who receives it
Your data goes to Stripe for payment, and to the carrier handling delivery. It is not sold, not shared, and not used for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it. One address for all of it: hello@thecathammock.com. We answer within 30 days.
You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live:
- United Kingdom. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Canada. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, under PIPEDA.
- Australia. The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), under the Privacy Act 1988.
- New Zealand. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner, under the Privacy Act 2020.
- United States. There is no single federal privacy regulator for retail purchases; the rights available to you depend on your state. Residents of states with their own privacy statutes keep every right those statutes give them.
